DRUMMERS from around the World will descend on Cheltenham later this month.

Performers from Africa and Japan will be drumming up a storm when they grace the stage of the town's Everyman Theatre.

Described as a fantastic foot stomping phenomenon - the Wadaiko Yamato drummers visit the Everyman Theatre on March 27 as part of a UK tour.

The company, which comprises five men and five women, perform traditional Japanese Taiko-Do drumming, which includes pieces ranging from delicate rhythms to stomping bass beats.

Tickets range from £9.50 to £18. Discounts are available.

Meanwhile there will be a night of African dance and drumming on March 29. Adzido Pan African Dance Ensemble present their new production Chesa Chesa.

The show takes its name from the South African Sotho word meaning pure, hot, fiery and liberating and the dancers and drummers will surely turn up the heat.

With dances from all over Africa, the evening is bound to be colourful and the troupe is renowned for their uplifting performances.

Tickets range from £7 to £14.50.

The Everyman will also be turning back the clocks in March.

The theatre will be hosting All Aboard - A Triton Amongst The Minnows, a one-woman show compiled and performed by actress Kim Hicks.

The show, which runs from March 29-31, is centred around ten characters who kept diaries while voyaging on the SS Great Britain.

Among some of the characters Kim portrays are a young woman on honeymoon, a sickly reverend and an emotional member of the aristocracy.

Tickets cost £7 and discounts are available.
