A SERVICE is being held in Trimpley this weekend to unveil a plaque in memory of a First World War soldier whose name is mysteriously missing from Wyre Forest's war memorials.
Private Leonard Howes, of the Worcestershire Regiment, died aged 35 on May 27, 1940. Members of his family and the regiment will be at Holy Trinity Church at 9.30am on Sunday for the dedication of a wooden plaque to his memory. Originally from Low Habberley, Mr Howes is buried in the Givenchy-la-Bassee cemetery in France.
