WINNING prizes is a piece of cake for an icing sugar sculptor.
Head chef at Rashwood Nursing Home Michael Meigh has won two prizes in two months with his sugary creations at national competitions.
His two-foot high rendering of ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankham-en won him a merit award at the NEC Hospitality Week on January 22.
At the Salon Culinaire competition in Devon on February 14, he won gold medals for two cakes, one created for Valentine's Day and another for children which showed Beatrix Potter characters.
Michael, of Birmingham, said he often makes cakes to mark special occasions for the residents at the Rashwood Lane nursing home, near Wychbold.
