Shifnal 1 Stourport 1

Swifts got off to a bad start at Shifnal in the league on Saturday when the hosts took a 14th minute lead.

A cross from Mike Flavell was only half-cleared by keeper Rob Clarke, leaving Steve Clifford to bury his opportunity into the bottom corner when the ball fell to his feet.

Moore and Matt Southwick both had chances to level late in the half but did not take them.

Stourport pressed harder after the break and the lively Moore curled a shot just wide of the post and then hit the upright.

A through-ball from Jan Mulders found Booth to fire straight at the keeper and Mark Dearlove headed over from Shaw's corner as Swifts continued to be frustrated.

But Booth finally grabbed the important goal when Moore's cross was ineffectually cleared.

Taylor returned the ball into the danger area for top scorer Booth to turn and fire in for a share of the spoils.

It was the hit man's 18th goal in the league, putting him seven behind Stourbridge's Michael Moore in the scoring charts.

Fixture, Saturday: Swifts v Knypersley Victoria (Midland Alliance, 3pm).
