WE all feel strongly about the loss of services at Kidderminster General Hospital, but sending Dr Taylor to Parliament as our MP is not a good idea.

He will be sitting in Parliament as an Indep-endent, with no party mach-ine to back him and will be quickly isolated if he confines himself to talking about our hospital and health matters.

Hundreds of other important issues that will affect this country will arise in the next Parliament and how will Dr Taylor vote on those - for example, the European single currency, the abolition of the pound and our relations with the other countries of Europe?

Voters should remember too that we already have a large number of Health Concern councillors serving on the district council but what have they achieved? Nothing, and regrettably Dr Taylor's efforts will end the same.

Without being a Job's Comforter, I believe the cause is already lost.

I visited the hospital last week and it seems the staff are preparing to shuffle round so that the builders can move in and convert some of the buildings into a restaurant and shops.

By the time Dr Taylor arrives in Parliament it will be too late do to anything and he will be sitting for the next four or five years without a cause.
