I am sure that I am not alone when I say that I sincerely hope that local Councillors see sense and pass the plans for Evesham United to move to the Cheltenham Road site.

I think this would be an ideal site for the Club. Would the villagers of Aston Somerville and Hinton really be able to hear much noise from United?

As for any extra traffic surely Cheltenham Road is already very busy and its not as if any extra traffic will need to go through these villages.

As for light pollution, they have promised modern flood lights designed to minimise spill.

The Club isn't exactly going to be on anyone's doorstep, unlike the Astroturf flood lights at Evesham High School which are on most nights and are right in the middle of a residential area. I am sure the people in surrounding house have learnt to live with these lights. Isn't it about time Evesham gets something good, lets face it Pershore is having a new swimming pool - all we get is houses and a growing population who have lots of leisure time and nowhere much to go.

Evesham United isn't just for adults it also has many junior teams as well. These children need Evesham United, the need an interest or perhaps they will roam the streets with nothing to do. Evesham United are doing well this season, they even did quite well in the Umbro Cup and played at home against Morecombe.

On this day I wonder what the many away fans thought on having to park away from the ground and walk in because the car park at United was unsuitable for vehicles as it was so muddy.

I also wonder what visitors to United think about the old Stocks Lovell site - what an eyesore - hurry up and put some houses on it!

Many Congratulations to Jim Cockerton and all the others who help keep Evesham United going and make it work under difficult circumstances. Isn't it about time Evesham supported its own home football team. Come on Councillors do something right and pass those plans.
