AFTER ten years of searching, Evesham United Football Club is pleased that it has at last found a site for a new ground that will enable the club to re-locate to the edge of the town, and also provide a community facility for young people who wish to develop their football skills.
An amended application to re-locate the ground to the west of Cheltenham Road, with an access off the roundabout that connects the by-pass with Cheltenham Road, has been deposited with Wychavon District Council. It is proposed to hold a public meeting in the Town Hall, Evesham on Thursday, March 8 at 7.30pm, when the new scheme will be outlined to all interested parties. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting to hear about this proposal, which, if approved by the Wychavon District Council Planning Committee, will provide a centre of excellence for football, in the Vale of Evesham, for many years to come.
JIM COCKERTON, Chairman, Evesham United Football Club.
