A CHURCH congregation did a double-take at a clergyman's smart new spring outfit thanks to the nimble fingers of craft group. Margaret Downton with the new
vestments embroidered by her group.
Margaret Downton, of Areley Kings, and her embroidery and textile group have designed new church vestments for vicar of St Bartho-omew's Church Andrew Vessey, matching patterns in the chapel window.
Mr Vessey described the embroidery as a "stunning" representation of the abstract patterns in the beautiful stained glass window.
The ladies' group was formed two years ago and took 12 months to complete the work.
