HOCKEY: PROLIFIC Phil Lashford scored another two for Stourport but hosts Lewes fought back for a 2-2 draw in National Hockey League Division One.

Lashford put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute and into an even more comfortable position in the second half with another goal.

But eight minutes later Ben Hawes hit back from the penalty spot and Jeremy Boyse struck the equaliser.

Mark McKinnon started the scoring sequence with a superb solo run and shot into the bottom left-hand corner.

A reverse-stick strike by Josh Tomlins put Stourport further ahead and the first half was wrapped up with a second goal for McKinnon and one for Ian Lye.

The visitors started slowly in the second half and Northampton grabbed two goals.

The game finished with a great counter-attack by Stourport with Andy Pocknell scoring.

Stourport fought back from a slow start to take a 3-2 half-time lead thanks to two goals from forward Ben Gray.

In the early stages of the second half, a disputed penalty flick gave Beeston a third goal.

But Stourport dominated the proceedings for the rest of the match and added two more goals. Other scorers were A Watson, C Perry and Anthony Davis.

Six goals fired Stourport to a big victory with Adrian Moulam tapping in the first from skipper Andy Moulam's assist.

Stourport slowly took control as Robin Conway and Steve Odell extended the lead to 3-0 before the break.

Stourport weathered a Cannock onslaught at the start of the second half before Odell added a fourth. Conway and Adrian Moulam added others before the end.

The ladies continued their unbeaten run in the Midland Conference League with an away draw.

Tina Evans scored a first half goal following a penalty corner but Stourport went into the break trailing 2-1.

Both sides created second half chances but it was Stourport who took advantage and levelled the scores through Laura Price.

Bournville piled on the pressure in this friendly fixture and scored three first-half goals.

Stourport attacked and created a number of chances and were awarded a penalty stroke with 10 minutes left, only for Fran Hinett to hit the ball at the keeper.

Stourport's youngsters won a Colts Tournament for eight to 10-year-olds at Droitwich.

Ben Harris' goal gave them a 1-0 win over Yardley in their first match before a 0-0 draw with Droitwich Ravens.

Harris and Dan Hurley (two) scored in a 3-0 win over Droitwich Hawks and Malvern were hammered 4-0 with Hurley getting all the goals.

Four of the eight-player squad had not played in a match before. The squad was I Rosie, S Round, A Cawley, Hurley, Harris, E Brookes, H Terry, E Sztybel.
