'DISAPPROVING' councillors are putting pen to paper over a £10,000 bill to pay for investigations called for by an 'arrogant' Labour group representative.
At Thursday's special meeting of Bromsgrove District Council's policy and resources committee members heard how the authority had to hand over the cash to its auditors, KPMG.
It was to cover investigations into the council ordered by its Labour Group leader Cllr Peter McDonald (Lab, Uffdown and Waseley).
He had raised matters concerning the council's property transactions, including land in Aston Fields, and the requested Alvechurch parish poll.
Even though KPMG pursued the queries and was satisfied the council's actions were correct, the auditors have to be paid £9,753.98 for their time.
Cllr Margaret Taylor (Con, Barnt Green) said along with the payment a letter should be sent expressing the council's 'disapproval' of having to call in the auditors.
She added: "We are £10,000 down because of this man's arrogance."
At the meeting Cllr McDonald stood by his belief that after an investigation land was sold for £140,000, not £100,000, after another buyer came forward, which would cover the cost of the auditors.
