BROMSGROVE'S rail service has been dubbed 'feeble' by the town's European Parliament member after complaints from commuters that the trains are dangerously overcrowded.
Liberal Democrat MEP Liz Lynne visited the town's station as part of a tour of her West Midlands constituents.
At the same time local party members carried out a survey of commuters' opinions about the rail service.
She had been invited to see the facilities by prospective parliamentary candidate Margaret Rowley, who is also a Wychavon district councillor.
Cllr Rowley (Lib Dem, Bowbrook) said the survey showed that because more people used the few trains that stop at the station, people were beginning to fear the carriages were overcrowded and unsafe. Commuters also wanted a waiting room, ticket office and more information at the station.
A spokesman for Central Trains said the Liberal Democrats should give them credit for getting more trains to Bromsgrove than ever before and said they would continue to try and improve the service.
