An understrength Headless Cross Ladies lost 2-1 in the League Cup to Bustleholme Ladies.
Cross started well after a through ball found Beth Jarrett in space.
The Bustleholme goalkeeper fumbled only for Jarrett to fire over when it was easier to score.
Moments later Elaine Frampton beat two players on the right and hit a superb cross which a Bustleholme defender could only put into her own net under pressure from Jarrett.
But indifferent defending saw Bustleholme come back into the game scoring twice before halftime.
Cross played neat football in the second period but were unable to break down a determined defence.
