I AM mystified by Wychavon District Council's decision not to open the Droitwich Lido this year. What will be left for youngsters in the school holidays?
Is there a better place to find fresh air and fun with friends and families than at Droitwich Lido? There is little enough to attract young people to this town as it is.
Until recently, the closure appears to have been a well kept secret between the council and 'a German company.'
Would Cllr Don Lawley please tell the truth of what has been planned when he said 'The Lido is not closing, it's closing as we know it.' If he is suggesting it is to be reopened as a health centre, surely the Lido would not be large enough to be of interest to investors for development.
If this is what the council plans then the park, its pools, flora and fauna are at risk to accommodate such a building.
Anne Margaret Burke,
Droitwich Spa.
