STUDLEY manager Mark Chambers wants to halt a mini-slump after his league leaders slipped to two consecutive defeats for the first time this season.

The Bees lost a proud unbeaten home record at the weekend with a surprising 3-0 loss to Sutton Town.

And the defeat came on the heels of a Birmingham Senior Cup exit at the hands of near neighbours Kings Heath.

BKL's fourfold bid for honours was halted by a Heath side enjoying their best run in the competition.

"We dominated the game at their place and I can't be too disappointed with the performance," said Studley boss Mark Chambers.

"They hit us with a free kick and then sat back and defended.

"But they are a strong side and defended well so good luck to them."

The result means chairman and Baggies fan Dave Robinson missed out on his dream home tie against West Bromwich Albion.

Chambers will have been more concerned with the loss of league points, Studley's first defeat since mid December.

"We've played worse but several of our lads looked jaded," said the Bees manager.

"It's not the end of the world.

"It was a terrific run we were on but it had to end somewhere and we can get back on track this week."

The weekend reverse leaves Studley seven points clear at the top, but second-placed Nuneaton Griffs have three matches in hand and can go two points ahead if they win them.

Midfielder Steve Duncan was set to return after a three match ban, striker Brian Powell was available after being rested on Saturday with hamstring trouble.

And left back and captain Mark Davis was hoping to figure after an ankle injury.

Striker Andy Grubb is at least a fortnight away with ankle ligament damage.

Studley visit Romulus on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) and entertain Division Two strugglers County Sports next Tuesday (ko 7.45pm) in the Smedley Crooke Cup.
