SOCCER-MAD year seven girls at Witton Middle School almost brought back the silverware when they competed in a five-a-side football competition at Aston Villa Leisure Centre.
The Droitwich Spa youngsters, aged 11 and 12, won three matches and drew one before being knocked out in the semi- final of the Midlands Region English Schools FA 5-a-side Indoor Tournament sponsored by Wagon Wheels.
Chris Dunn, head of PE at the school, said: "It was a brilliant effort by the team -- they played really well to get to the semis."
