REGARDING the recent proposed cut of a playworker, how can anyone be so shortsighted and short-change the most vulnerable and weakest members of our communities? (Evening News, February 19).
Your editorial rightly said " the children are our future". During my 10 years as a councillor I have witnessed the success of our playschemes. Now the funding for the playworker is withdrawn.
We reap far more for the future than the £10,000 we spend in the present. Children deserve it - they gain so much from play and communities reap the benefits in the long term.
