REDDITCH Swimming Club took the prize at a gala at Bromsgrove's Dolphin Centre against Wyre Forest, Boldmere, Droitwich, Evesham and Bromsgrove.

The gala got underway with the 10 years freestyle, Hayley Roberts came in second with Perry Derrick in action for the boys.

The 11 year relay teams powered ahead in their medleys with victory for the girls and boys who came second and third respectively in the freestyle races.

A good second length for Daniel Anderson in the 12/U backstroke saw him touch home first. Lucy Roberts was in action for the girls.

Super technique by Lucy Edwards saw her glide through the water in the 10 year breaststroke, finishing second.

Liam Chapman pushed hard for the boys taking third.

The 9 year girls' relay team of Suzanne Britt, Lauren Hall-Annison, Sophie Anderson and Leanne Savage continued their winning trend with victories in the freestyle and medleys.

The boys team of Daniel Ruckwood, Jack Madison, James Major-Mackay were joined by Liam Chapman for the relays.

Leading from the dive Robert Jolly powered through the water to take firstplace for Redditch with Adele Chapman swimming for the girls.

The 10 years relays saw the girls take second in the medley and freestyles.

The 11/U backstrokers of Charlotte Cassidy-Morris and Philip Bowes pushed hard with close finishes giving them third and second respectively.

Sophie Laxton and Scott Newton took to the water for the 12/U breaststroke where Newton came home second.

The 11/U butterfly saw Louise Bussey and Sam Holtom in action, Holtom taking third. before taking second in the freestyle. Natalie Hooper swam for the girls.

Third position in the 12/U freestyle was sealed by Amy Edwards with Matthew Crowe taking victory for the boys.

An extremely close race followed in the 10 year backstroke. David Jolly took first on touch for the boys with Francesca Cassidy-Morris swimming for the girls.

Wins followed for the boys 12/U relay team in their medley and freestyle events. The girls took second in their freestyle relay.

An excellent swim by Kate Maddison in the 11/U breaststroke saw her triumph, William Major-Mackay swam for the boys.

Neck and neck all the way for Rachel White in the 10 year butterfly where a fingertip finish gave her second.

Final positions: Redditch; Bromsgrove; Droitwich; Evesham; Boldmere; Wyre Forest.
