THE all-conquering Redditch Regals ladies basketball team are bidding for National League status.

Unbeaten for 60 matches in an incredible run which saw them lift the West Midlands Premier title with a perfect record, the ladies want to step up to the top flight.

The club is set to apply to Division Two of the National League where they will rub shoulders with the likes of Stockport Lapwings, Derby, Cardiff and Tyne and Wear.

The Arrow Vale High School outfit are confident they have the facilities to pass inspection from league officials but need 24-second clocks.

And with the team needing kit, equipment and travelling expenses, Regals need sponsors to back their bid to fly the Redditch flag nationwide.

Regals maintained their championship stroll with a 61-35 win over a Baverstock side coached by former Birmingham Bullets supremo Richard Parker.

The side are on course to retain their title with another perfect record.

Baverstock are again the opponents when Redditch return to action at South Birmingham on Tuesday, March 13 (tip-off 7.30pm).
