A BANK, which has branches in Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa, is offering start-up cash for budding businessmen and women.
Young unemployed people looking to start a business with the support of the Prince's Trust could benefit from a new loan from Barclays.
The bank is offering unsecured loans of £500 to £5,000, over terms of between one and three years - providing they are matched by Prince's Trust funding.
Cash is also available as a business starter loan, which allows borrowers starting a company a six-month repayment holiday.
The Prince's Trust helps young people of limited means start their own business, focusing on those who have had borrowing applications turned down by other sources.
Around 130 bank managers act as volunteer mentors for the organisation, offering business advice to youngsters.
"All businesses require access to finance if they are to grow and for people from disadvantaged backgrounds this can pose difficulties," said John Attree, executive director of the Prince's Trust business division.
"Schemes such as the Barclays' one, address the issue head on."
Barclays managing director for small business Mike Rogers was delighted to support the trust.
He said: "The advice and guidance which Trust mentors provide is invaluable."
