WORK on creating 17 new bungalows for elderly people in the town will begin next month after Redditch Council gave plans the go-ahead.
The project, which will cost more than £1 million, will be the fifth development to be built in the town by Redditch Co-operative Homes.
The two-bedroom bungalows will be built at the back of Sillins Avenue in Lakeside and should be completed by the end of this year.
Chairman of Redditch Co-operative Homes Ken Somner said: "I am delighted permission has been granted. Future residents of these properties helped to design layout and specifications."
