TRAGEDY struck when a pensioner was struck by a car and killed as he crossed the road in his village.
Dickie Daw, aged 90, of Hands Paddock, Newbold, near Shipston, died in the accident, which happened at 9.45pm last Friday. Police say he was crossing the A3400 near its junction with Moss Lane when he was in collision with a Fiat Uno, being driven by a man, aged 53 and from Shipston, who was unhurt.
They are also looking for a second car, which pulled out of Moss Lane and turned towards Stratford as the Uno was heading towards Shipston immediately before the accident. Anyone who may have seen the accident or knows the identity of the second car driver is urged to contact Warwickshire police on 01926 415000.
