THE Under 13 Girls Hockey team from The Downs Prep School in Colwall had a triumphant end to their Christmas term by winning the County Championship Tournament on December 10.
In an exciting final match to decide the tournament, the girls from The Downs held off a strong challenge from The Elms to clinch victory with a 'golden goal' in extra time.
Their delighted coach, Caroline Clarke said: "Our girls have enjoyed an unbeaten season again this year, but to win the County Tournament was really the cherry on the top, and particularly fitting that it should have happened in our school's centenary year."
