Carterton 0, Campden Ladies 6

AFTER several weeks on the sidelines, Campden showed few signs of rustiness as they easily overcame Saturday's Oxfordshire hosts.

The visitors strung together many strong attacks with Sarah Bragg getting on the end of three to score a first half hat-trick as Campden took a 3-0 lead.

There was more pressure on the Carterton goal after the restart and it didn't take long for Bragg to notch her fourth.

Shirley Aubrey then joined her colleague on the scoresheet before Melissa Maxwell ended the home side's agony with a sixth goal.

Ilmington 2, Campden Ladies 5

SUNDAY'S friendly saw three second half goals clinch a weekend double for the Campden side.

Louise Smith scored her first goal of the season to give the visitors the lead and it was 2-0 when Kate Henderson's positioning paid off when a shot from Sally Holmes rebounded off her stick.

Ilmington hit back with a goal from Jude Guest and the battling hosts then equalised early in the second half.

A thundering shot from Holmes restored Campden's advantage following a penalty corner and Bragg's determination paid off as the striker netted a fourth.

Aubrey's strike then capped a fine couple of days for the Pyment's sponsored Campden club.

A flooded surface at Ross-on-Wye caused the postponement of Bretforton's Severn League first division clash last weekend.

Bretforton will be hoping for drier weather ahead of Saturday's home match against Shipston (11am).

The club's junior players did manage to get in a game but, in cold, driving rain, they lost 2-0 on the Evesham Astroturf to Banbury.

The home side started stronger and forced a series of short corners - none of which they were able to convert into goals.

Two good chances fell to Katie Smith but the Banbury goalkeeper produced fine stops.

Bretforton continued to press forward after the interval as the midfield trio of Kate Mitchell, Amy Trotman and Lisa Harris pulled the strings but again Banbury's last line of defence denied them.

Banbury came more into the game in the second half and, having taken the lead, they made it 2-0 after a defensive mix-up.

There was still more Bretforton pressure but the visiting goal remained unbreached.
