WORCESTER City will complete the loan signing of Burton Albion defender Allan Davies tonight.
The 28-year-old full-back is set to make his City debut in Saturday's Dr Martens Premier clash with Ilkeston Town at St George's Lane.
Manager John Barton met with Davies at a Burton reserve game last night, and the loan deal should be finalised after training tonight.
But he declined to say whether the move could become permanent, saying: "It is just a straight one-month loan at the moment.
"We have taken him on to hopefully improve it and give us another player. The next month is a big one for us with a high number of games.
"I have known Alan for a while. He likes to get forward, which gives us another option attacking-wise, and is a well-respected player at this level of football. A lot of people think he has been unfortunate to be left out."
The former Manchester City apprentice has made almost 450 games for Burton but recently lost his place.
However, he will not be eligible for any FA Umbro Trophy ties as he has already appeared in the competition for Burton.
Davies will add extra cover for City, with Andy Bradley suffering a back injury in Monday's Trophy draw against Hendon and Chris Greenman sidelined with a dislocated shoulder.
