EVESHAM band Huron have come over all festive ahead of their gig at The Railway Hotel tomorrow (Friday) night.

The date marks the group's second only home turf gig this year, the last one being last January.

This time you can check out a raft of cover versions, many with a festive feel, but vocalist Stuart Lister assures local fans that they will probably throw in a few of their own tracks.

The four piece, which also includes guitarist James Flanders, Mike Fordham on bass and drummer Giles Hodges formed about four years ago.

They have released an album in 1998 and an EP in 1999 and kicked off 2000 playing London venues like the Mean Fiddler, Underworld and Barfly in Camden Town and Covent Garden.

They have already attracted the interest of record labels like Telstar and Food Records at their London dates and have now been working on a heavier, more distinctive sound to replace their catchy commercial pop sound of a year ago. "Food Records saw us twice but wanted something a bit heavier," explained Stuart. "We now want to get back into the studio, do another EP of new material and push that back out to Food Records, and get back to London."

He added: "I believe our music is just as good as anything out there in the charts but our biggest obstacle now is getting the money together to get time in the studio."

See Huron in festive mode on Friday at about 8.30pm. Admission is free.
