A VALE record producer plans to share a few tips on how to break in to the music business at a one-day course on the dance music industry.

Sean Forryan, aged 30, from Sedgeberrow has spent much of the past 10 years trying to get a foothold in the dance music world and on January 21 he intends sharing his experiences at The Custard Works recording studios in Cheltenham.

"One of the major problems facing anyone intent on a career in the record industry is knowing where to start as there is no clearly identifiable or recognised way in," he says. "The course, costing about £80 per person, is aimed at inspiring people and alerting them to some of the pitfalls.

"I'll talk about my experiences, about the law, lawyers and A&R guys and point out the dos and don'ts," Sean explained.

Sean has recently launched his own record label - Solid Sugar Smoke - and he hopes to release the label's first singles in the new year, featuring Evesham band Saving Pedro and Cheltenham singer Laura Jay Bristow.
