Norton Rangers U-13 8,

Martley Spurs 0

FOUR goals in five second half minutes helped Norton retain their unbeaten record as they cemented their place at the top of the table.

A strong wind made conditions tricky on the soaked surface and many chances were spurned.

However, goals from player of the match James Muddiman and Luke Underhill steadied the nerves and it was left to a half time pep talk from manager Rob Knight to galvanise his troops.

Tactical changes saw Rangers run riot as Muddiman completed his hat-trick. The other goals came from Dan Cotterill, Shane Turley, Tristan Buckley and Peter Marquis.

Ashley Knight struck a post in a match of many goalmouth scrambles at the Martley end of the field.

Bournville 2,

Evesham Colts U-15 4

COLTS booked their place in the League Shield semi-finals despite suffering from injury and illness.

Higher graded Bournville started the stronger and should have taken the lead from the penalty spot but a striker dragged his shot wide.

Another mistake, this time by the home goalkeeper, gifted Evesham the opener on the half-hour. Stuart Dow's challenge saw the ball drop for Andy Smith who crossed for Rob Stone to hammer home.

The same player doubled his side's lead after half time only for Bournville to quickly hit back. Colts then stepped up a gear and Steve Smith lashed in a third after Dow and Stone combined.

The hosts battled on and once again reduced the deficit but Stone had the final word in the last minute to complete his hat-trick after calmly rounding the keeper after latching on to a through ball from Fowler.

Churchdown Panthers 1,

Badsey Rangers U-11 6

BADSEY extended their unbeaten record to six matches as they easily overcame mid-table Panthers.

Rangers took early control but couldn't turn possession into goals while having problems with home breaks.

However, after 18 minutes, Jamie Clarke hit a tremendous shot that went in off a post and it was 2-0 nine minutes later when Ben Holland lobbed the goalkeeper from 20 yards.

James White then converted Clarke's cross but Badsey's decision to sit back proved costly as Churchdown managed to convert one of their chances before the break.

Clarke got his side back on track and restored the three-goal cushion 13 minutes into the second period but it took the visitors until ten minutes from time to again beat a defiant home keeper when player of the match Clarke completed his treble.

Stefan Ellis, who tormented the Churchdown defence all afternoon with his pace, earned late reward to round off the scoring.

Chesterton 1, Moreton Rgrs 7

THE visitors were on top form when they paid a visit to Chesterton near Bicester on Saturday for what was an excellent game of youth football.

Both sides played some fine attacking football but it was Moreton who soon found a way through the Chesterton defence with Jamie Wyatt firing in a shot from just inside the box.

Wyatt soon claimed his second following a good corner from Reece Harle, again finding his way through a shaky rearguard.

Mark Magee made it 3-0 following yet another defensive error and it was the home side who were forced on to the back foot.

However, Chesterton were awarded a penalty shortly afterwards for pushing in the box and they struck a good goal past goalkeeper Joe Murrell who played an excellent game.

Not disillusioned by this, Moreton pressed on with a fifth goal by Tom Corby to make it 5-1 by the half time whistle.

During the second 25 minutes the visitors increased their lead with a Roy Hissey blast and, when Wyatt claimed his hat-trick, it was all but over for the depleted but spirited Chesterton side.

Evesham United U-9 1,

Bredon Colts 4

THE visitors dominated the opening period and took a two-goal advantage into the interval thanks to goals from Chris Dyson.

The hosts started the second half strongly and soon reduced the arrears but they were denied an equaliser by s string of excellent saves from Felix Denton.

Bredon now stepped up a gear and striker Toby Patterson restored the two-goal lead before Greg Artis sealed victory in the closing minutes.

Campden Town Lions U-10 0, Littleton Jnrs 4

LITTLETON were made to work hard for the points against a gutsy and hard working Campden side.

The visitors produced some excellent play in the first half and led 3-0 at the break courtesy of goals from Matt Goss, Matt Taylor and Ben Johns.

Campden went close to reducing the arrears after the break as Proctor and Shurmer tried their luck but it was Littleton who had the final say when Ryan Clarke scored his side's fourth.

Holloway was Campden's player of the match, Goss collecting the Littleton award.
