IT was hardly the most surprising news but Evesham United's FA Umbro Trophy tie at Cinderford on Tuesday suffered a third postponement.

The two clubs have pencilled in next Tuesday for another attempt to play the second round game but United are keeping their options open.

Phil Mullen's men were due to visit Redditch in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup next week - the winners will be at home to Worcester City in the semi-finals - and that match will remain on the fixture list should the Trophy tie be called off the previous day.

If that scenario occurs then Evesham face the prospect of playing four games in seven days with the Cinderford match being put back two days until next Thursday.

Common Road is also scheduled to stage a replay should the two Dr Martens League clubs fail to get a result after 90 minutes if the game takes place next Tuesday.

"I just want to get the game out of the way," said Evesham boss Mullen. "Phil Preedy wouldn't have been able to make it on Tuesday but we had the players to bring in and cover his absence."

United's youngsters were also hit by the weather when Monday's Worcestershire FA Youth Cup tie against Malvern was cancelled. A new date of Thursday, December 28 has been set aside.
