AN amazing twist of fate has paired Kidderminster Harriers at home to Carlisle United in two different cup competitions.

"It is remarkable," said Harriers' boss Jan Molby after the two separate draws were made on the same day.

The first paired Harriers with Nationwide League Third Division strugglers in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy.

Kidderminster were in the Northern Section of the draw in what was formerly known as the Auto Windscreen Shield.

Later on Saturday Harriers were again drawn at home to Carlisle, this time in the second round of the FA Cup.

Molby's men, however, will firstly have to beat Burton Albion in a replay at Eton Park a week tomorrow following Saturday's goalless draw at Aggbor-ough.

Molby said: "In the morning we were drawn against them in the LDV Vans Trophy and now we've got a chance of playing them again in the FA Cup.

"But the first game we have got to get over is the replay to make sure we are in the second round. But it is amazing."

If Harriers win their replay Carlisle will visit Aggborough on Saturday, December 9.

Kidderminster have already lost 1-0 at home to the Cumbrians in a Third Division clash on Saturday, September 2.

Hereford United, meanwhile, were in the Southern Section of the LDV Vans Trophy and were drawn at home to fellow Nationwide Conference side and current league leaders Yeovil Town.

It is the first time that Conference sides are taking part in the competition.

First round matches to be played the week commencing December 4.
