WORCESTER hooker Alex Wendon has been called into the North Midlands 18-Group side for tomorrow's Midlands Divisional Championship match against Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire at Paviors RFC in Nottingham (2.30pm).

Wendon was on the replacements' bench for the defeats by Gloucestershire in a warm-up game last month and by East Midlands in the Championship opener at Bromsgrove last week, but he has now been preferred to Ian Coles of Kidderminster Carolians.

North Midlands have made four other changes with Dan Pugh (Telford Hornets), Will Hill (Kidderminster Carolians), Tom O'Brien (Malvern) and Jon Critchlow (Moseley) taking the places of Chris M'Cord and Nick Rastelli at wing, centre and fly-half respectively. Critchlow, who has recovered from a head injury, displaces his club-mate Mark Marren.

North Midlands will be without Moseley lock Joe Purcell for the remainder of the tournament following his decision to have trials with Wales Under-21's, so Richard Rainbow of Sutton Coldfield will again take his place in the second row.

Tomorrow's encounter has been switched to Paviors' because Newark's ground at Kelham Road is flooded.
