WORCESTER Rugby Club star Earl Va'a has been passed fit for tomorrow's National League Division One clash with Otley at Sixways (3pm).

The Samoan international has missed the past four weeks with a hand injury but was given the green light yesterday for a recall as Worcester look to bounce back from their Tetley Bitter Cup disappointment at Saracens.

The fly-half's return is a massive boost for director of coaching Adrian Skeggs who is already without long-term injury casualty Andy Higgins.

Skeggs makes three changes to the side which lost 42-13 at Vicarage Road last Sunday with Va'a, Alistair McLean and Tony Windo coming in for Ian Calder, Spencer Bromley and Andy Collins.

He said: "Andy Collins has had a niggling hand injury this week, but Alistair gets his chance because I thought he was impressive when he came on as substitute against Saracens.

"His run set up the try for Alistair Murdoch and he looked lively throughout. He has had to be very patient for his chance this season and I have no doubt he's determined to make his mark."

Difference

The former Australian international also believes Va'a's presence will make a big difference.

He said: "He is a key player for us and if we are to be successful this season he will play a big part. Earl is a very talented individual and it is a relief to have him back.

"It has been a frustrating time for him but the medical people tell us he is ready to play so he's in the team."

Dan Zaltzman is still troubled by an ankle injury and will not be risked against Otley. He is pencilled in for a comeback on Tuesday night when Worcester Warriors travel to Bristol United.
