FLOOD victims who would like to be considered for part of a £6,900 emergency fund have days left to apply.

The chairman of the Worcestershire branch of Lions International has offered the cash for people who have lost personal belongings, such as clothes, bedding, pots, pans or food.

The money, which comes from the charity's headquarters in Illinois, USA, is intended to help people with their short-term needs.

"Because this money comes from a central fund we have to hand it back if it's not used because it's for people who need the money now," said chairman Graham Taylor.

"We applied for the cash because we thought people in the county could do with it. But obviously if people don't apply it will be handed back."

There are 21 days left before the money must go back to the central fund in America.

Anyone wishing to apply for some money from the fund should contact Mr Taylor on 01299 826256.
