CONVICTED paedophile Andrew Sadler was still behind bars today after his appeal against his four-year sentence was delayed.

The shamed 51-year-old, of Britannia Square, Worcester, was sent to prison in September, for sexual corruption and having sex with a boy in the Romanian capital Bucharest.

His appeal was due to be heard by a Romanian court on Monday, October 30.

But a spokesman for the National Criminal Intelligence Service, who helped trap the former Abberley School teacher, revealed today the date had been put back.

No new date has been fixed.

The national newspaper which broke the news of his appeal claimed Sadler had been a practising paedophile for more than 20 years and was part of a bigger, European ring active in many of Britain's leading private schools.

British police likened the evil organisation to a spider's web, which counted clergy and professionals among its ranks.

Sadler retired from the £3,700-a-term prep school in 1995, on the grounds of ill-health. He told friends he had become a holiday rep.

Shocked neighbours at his Britannia Square address - still believed to be occupied by his young, male Portuguese "friend" - said they believed police had seized a number of videos from the flat.
