GEORGE Cowley refers to some people as being anti-European, little Englanders.

Not for the first time, through this newspaper's letters, he has been invited to recognise that sarcasm should not be the language of a churchman.

It is a sin and a very bad advert for the church, of which I believe he claims to be an adherent.

At times, it is very difficult to forgive Mr Cowley for his forays into the realms of sarcastic and painful language.
