THE road artists and traffic managers have progressed. Dubious road re-modelling, a bewildering increase in signs and dazzling surface painting are not enough.
Now they are introducing moving sculpture - rising bollards, as reported in Evening News on November 6.
How is it that expensive schemes like this take precedent over simple but essential maintenance? Why do we continue to suffer long-standing pot-holes and other defects?
In the same issue of the paper, you highlight continuing problems with the social services cash crisis. Why not second the traffic managers to social services - with their budgets and imaginations we could have an elaborate solution in no time!
