YES folks, it's that time again when the floor of the village hall will echo to the sound of thumping feet, much laughter and as near unselfconscious Eeee-Haa's as we British can muster.

You've guessed it, it's the barn dance - a weekend when the resident woodworm family pack their bags and go to stay with relatives. I shouldn't need to tell you that Robin Whittlestone, a man who has done more calling than a retiring Avon lady, will be in charge of this shindig once again.

He will guide you through the traditional dances of many countries and perhaps introduce a more topical dance about the Euro rate of exchange (to coin a phrase), consisting of a dozy dough!

The drill for newcomers is that you don't have to be an expert. Half the fun of the evening is encountering the unexpected! So if you're the sort of driver who indicates left when turning right, you could bump in to some new friends on the night. And if you're the sort of person who only takes in the first three letters of barn dance, then Old John Barleycorn will be on hand, whilst the usual chuck wagon operates during the interval to help replenish lost energy.

Make a note of the date: Saturday, November 25 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

Tickets price £3.50, including buffet, can be booked by contacting Barbara Savery 562904 or Pat O'Malley 575682.
