THE prizewinners at the village hall fortnightly whist drive were:

The next whist drive on Wednesday, November 22 at 8pm. The Christmas whist drive will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 8pm. Entrance £1 inc. refreshments.
On Sunday, November 5, a joint Family Eucharist Service was held at the Church of St Mary the Virgin for the commissioning of local team ministry for the parishes of Deerhurst with Apperley and Forthampton. The service was conducted by the Bishop of Gloucester, Right Rev David Bentley, who also gave the Address. Assisting the bishop at the service were the vicar, Rev David Bowers, and the benefice reader, Mary-Ann Preece. The Bishop of Gloucester conducted the ceremony of commissioning the Team Ministry. The chosen Ministry Team were as follows: Mary-Ann Preece, Roger Taylor, Kay Mundy, David Ryecroft, Lillian Ryecroft, Robert Blakeway, Margaret Moss and Rev David Bowers.
The choir led the singing accompanied by the organist Arthur Lawrence.
