ALL pools have been affected by the weather but reasonable weights can still be had.

Small fish - carp to 1lb - are making up the weights on the Top Pool. Maggot and pinkie to size 18 or 20 hooks earn the best results. Bream to 1lb on maggot, caster or worm.

Better carp are showing on pegs 29 and 30 to feeder or very long pole on the House One Pool. Pegs in the gully still giving plenty of sport with small carp prominent.

Tench and barbel to 1lb are still showing on pegs 12 to 16.

Fishing at lengths of ten metres will give good results with small carp and carrots (golden orfe) on the House Two Pools. Best baits are caster and maggot.

Sport is slow but a few good carp to 20lb are possible on better days on the Bottom Pool. Be brave and use a smaller hook to get the monsters.

Results - Saturday Open (House Pools): 1 Trev Chalk (Shimano Portway) 30.11.0, 2 Pete Rice (FAPS Trinders) 21.2.0, 3 Alan Webb (Browning BG) 14.11.0, 4 Steve Walters (Oxford Angling) 11.7.0, 5 Nigel Hyde (Tussies) 11.6.0, 6 Phil Clark (Leics Sensus) 11.2.0.

Sunday Open (House Pools): 1 Doug Smith (Pershore MG) 21.10.0, 2 Les Thompson (Tims Tackle) 20.15.0, 3 Charlie McGurin (Fast Feeders) 15.0.0, 4 Pat Claric (Massey) 13.8.0, 5 Steve Edwards (Fast Feeders) 12.10.0, 6 Bob Fife (TBF) 12.10.0.

Lenches Lakes

THE weather has quietened down the action at this picturesque fishery.

Water levels are, however, still high despite not being affected by the floods and the fish are still willing to fed on the surface to small imitative flies during brighter spells. The wind makes them respond to small lures.

The best catches have belonged to Mr S Ballards, who has netted a rainbow weighing six pounds. Many other fine specimens have also been caught to being the average weight to 2lbs 12 ozs.

Prospects will again be influenced by the elements.
