MARK Simpson criticised Tony Blair's recent tour of Bewdley as a P R stunt (You Say, November 11). He claimed the tour was brief and ineffective.
Is Mr Simpson suggesting that in his official capacity, the Prime Minister should go round the country, unprotected? Or that the Prime Minister should have stayed long enough to drink 14 pints of beer in various Bewdley pubs?
According to the news reports, some vociferous protesters were more interested to bend the Prime Minister's ear over other issues instead of the floods.
The Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Wyre Forest will do well to remember the saying, "by the fruits they bear, they shall be known".
MR L SPITERI,
Worcester.
