PARISH COUNCIL: Notes from the meeting held on November 9:
Severn Waste: The parish council were represented at the recent liaison meeting with Severn Waste at which it was noted that there will be a presentation/demonstration on the leachate plant early in the new year.
Neighbourhood Watch Scheme: A meeting will shortly be arranged to advise and encourage new residents of the village to participate in the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.
By-pass: The parish council attended the meeting on October 26, in London, with the minister, Mr Keith Hill, to press our case. A decision is expected by mid-December.
David Payne Homes: Discussions have taken place with the district council regarding the future of the wildlife corridor by Piddle Brook/Gauging Station. The parish council are now considering the possible acquisition of this land to protect it for the future.
Street Repairs: Several street repairs have still not been carried out and are being strongly pursued with the highways department.
Flooding: Flood protection groundwork in Ryelands has been completed thanks to the timely efforts of the district council.
