FLOWER CLUB: At the last meeting of the Wellesbourne Flower Club, Jill Horton presented 'Travel Across the Continent'. The first demonstration, a triangular arrangement, depicted Ireland. It contained white stallion and double white chrysanthemums with a green middle piece, white roses, lilies and an ornamental cabbage centre. The second arrangement represented Great Britain. It contained no flowers and the colour was provided by berries from holly and hypericum, eucalyptus foliage, and asparagus fern as well as scented geraniums and hypericum. The next two displays represented Holland and Belgium. They included moss, several dried mushrooms and Begonia Rex respectively. Colourful displays depicting Italy and Spain concluded the demonstration. On behalf of the audience, Elaine Bethall thanked Jill Horton for a very artistic and interesting display.
