AUTHOR, explorer and TV programme maker Benedict Allen delves into the mysterious world of shamans, medicine men and witch doctors at Malvern next Monday.
His current series on BBC 2, The Last of the Medicine Men, has seen him exploring their dramatic world by observing rituals around the world and taking part in ceremonies himself.
In his lecture at Malvern, he will share his experience of living with voodoo priests of Haiti, the rainforests healers of Siberut Island, shamanic drummers of Siberia and, in the Mexican desert, devotees who come fact-to-face with their Gods via an hallucinogenic cactus.
The author of several books, Benedict Allen is perhaps best known for his programmes, which he makes but while alone on his expeditions. Booking details are on 01684 892277.
