Hodgetts then topped a fine performance with a stunning 25-yard drive to make it 3-1 eight minutes later.

David Pearson pulled one back on 74 minutes, but City held on. A further bonus was that defender Martin Weir and striker Carl Tranter both played the full 90 minutes and should now be in contention for Saturday's Dr Martens League Premier Division game at Stafford Rangers.

Kidderminster Harriers' Conference game at Hednesford was postponed.

Goals from Kevin Gwillim and Matt Morris gave Westfields a 2-2 draw at Star in the Banks's Brewery League Premier Division last night.
