A RELIEVED Phil Mullen was full of praise for his Evesham United charges after their midweek win in difficult circumstances.
A long journey down the M25, a power cut in the dressing room before the game and a horrid stench - the aftermath of terrible flooding in the clubroom - all added up to a tricky encounter.
"The lads were obviously a bit rusty but after the opening ten minutes they did the job." Mullen declared.
A dreadful playing surface that was under two feet of water ten days ago and no hot water added to the players' problems.
"I didn't tell them about the showers until after the game," the United manager revealed.
"All in all it's been a good night in not the best of circumstances. We've picked up one or two knocks but we will keep our fingers crossed that we can get it right at home on Saturday."
