NICK Burrows was the toast of Badsey on Saturday night after his hat-trick sunk Stratford upon Avon Alliance Herald Division One hosts FISSC Reserves.

The Rangers hit man ploughed a lone furrow against the Farmers as Rangers relied on a one-man show to take the points.

It was day for the visitors in this section as Campden Town, thanks to a brace from Anthony Robinson, and Long Compton also secured success on their travels. The unhappy hosts were Quinton and Tysoe United.

Happiness was shared at Welford where the hosts and Claverdon OB failed to pack their shooting boots in a goalless encounter.

Just one game escaped the elements in Cutler Division Two and it was worth the effort as Shipston's second string won 4-2 at Campden. Danny Hill and Ken Shurmer both bagged two for the winners.

Taplin also scored twice as FISSC's senior side ensured some smiles in the clubhouse after a 2-1 triumph at Badsey United in the sole Journal Premier Division fixture to survive.

A couple more top flight sides also enjoyed success but in various knockout competitions.

Hands, Oxley and Plank ensured Shipston a safe Nursing Home Cup passage at the expense of Bretforton Sports, while Hall, Crane and Handley scored for Halfords as the village of Bretforton suffered a double knockout blow.
