IN reply to the letter signed 'a local cynic', what a world-weary, negative attitude Mr Cynic has. There is a great demand for cinema in Evesham but sadly the facilities offered by the Regal have been eclipsed by modern cinemas in Stratford, Worcester, Cheltenham and Malvern. Nobody wants public or private money squandered on a hopeless cause. The Regal is a vast building on a prime corner site, close to two car parks. With flair, imagination and a significant investment, I believe the Regal could be transformed into a considerable attraction which would benefit Bengeworth as well as make a profit.I think Mr Cynic makes some good points - but points that are not valid in this case. And why withhold his name if he feels so strongly?
