BLOCKLEY Ladies Choir is bringing the fashions of yesteryear back to life again with a special performance this weekend.

Costumes that were once the property of the long since defunct Blockley Players drama group have been in storage at Cirencester's Corinium Museum for several years since the Players wound up their activities.

Now they have been returned to the village.

Some of the valuable costumes date as far back as the 1880s and include such items as jet-beaded bodices and boned bodices. They were all made in and around Blockley.

Now the choir members will be parading them in all their glory when they perform A Cocktail of Costume and Chorus at St George's Hall on Saturday.

Music and songs covering the last 100 years form the focus of the event, which starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £5, including food, and are available from Blockley Post Office.
