A COTSWOLD couple have voiced their delight after a sale to raise funds for their disabled son proved a runaway success.
Wendy and Robert Brain thought the sale at Upper Slaughter village hall would raise a few hundred pounds towards the cost of a new wheelchair for their son, Andrew, but were stunned by people's response.
In the end the sale raised more than £2,000 and later donations have taken the total to £4,400, allowing Andrew to buy a new motorised wheelchair.
Andrew, who lives in Devon with his partner and three children, was left unable to walk after suffering two strokes about a year ago.
