OUTRAGED villagers are sending a 200-name petition and letters to council bosses today in a bid to halt plans to build 24 homes in Barnt Green.
On Monday November 20, Bromsgrove District Council's planning and highways committee is set to discuss the outline planning permission for the development which would be behind homes in Bittell Road.
As part of the project, a bungalow will have to be demolished to create an access road to the mini-estate.
Residents are outraged at the scheme, earmarked for green belt land, and feel the development will ruin the character of the village.
Campaigner Joan Cornish, who has written to Bromsgrove MP Julie Kirkbride, said: "The road cannot take any more traffic.
"We pay high rates here to live in the countryside but Barnt Green is going to become an estate.
"The houses here have individual character and everyone is outraged at these plans."
Nobody from the council was available for comment.
