Halfords 3 Bretforton Old Boys 1

HALFORDS progressed to the next round of the Nursing Cup after a replay win.

Twice Old Boys went close from corners, but with 20 minutes gone the visitors were down to ten men when Greenwood was dismissed.

Dean Hadley got clear on the right and his flighted ball to the far post deceived the keeper to give Halfords the lead.

As half-time approached John Crane set off on a mazy run beating three players before being chopped for a penalty, which he took to make it 2-0 at the break.

Mark Edwards, playing in the pocket, continued to probe for openings and midway through the second half his through ball put Richard Skan clear on goal, only for the last defender to bring him down on the edge of the box.

Matt Hall expertly curled the free kick into the bottom corner.

The next five minutes saw Halfords do everything but add to their total, Skan going close three times, and Hall twice, with the former hitting the woodwork twice.

McGinley hit a late consolation.

Next week Halfords visit Henley Forest in the Journal Premier Division, (ko 2pm).
